New Sunday routine

Bell has been practicing their makeup routine every Sunday for the last three or four weeks. Finally, a use for the huge SAD lamp--it is perfect for illuminating them during the routine, which is pretty extensive. It has gone from maybe two hours down to maybe one hour. After the makeup is done, and Bell's wig is on, we go on a short outing to somewhere that is public but quiet. This evening I was in a foul mood, and it was Bell who got me out for a winter walk. In the past it would have been the other way around. We walked together on the spit, bundled up against the wind. The colours were very moody. Then we went to the grocery store after deliberating about whether Bell would feel comfortable enough.

An essential part of this weekend routine is that we take us-ies while we're on our little outing. Bell looks elated in the pictures (I look happy too). I'm always in my same toque. Besides the us-ies, for which we cozy up, we act like friends so as not present as a gay couple--Bell's preference. That's because the goal of each outing is "bend not break." I got that from Jessica Fern, I believe from Polywise. To be out in makeup, a wig, and drawing more attention on top of that as a gay couple is currently in the "break" category but I believe in a few more weeks it might be more of a manageable "bend" choice.
